Visual Arts in Sabadell, 1960-2024<\/em> presents a constellation of artworks, written and visual documents, as well as activities conceived and realized by local artists, showcasing Sabadell as a major creative asset. <em>Lead Gray<\/em> begins in the mid-1960s and continues up to the present, narrating the formation of a visual arts network that is metropolitan, national, and international, and which developed during a time that coincides with the transition inspired by democratic ideals and the shift toward a post-industrial economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Lead Gray<\/em> emerges from the Sabadell Visual Arts Table, convened by the Sabadell City Council to promote cultural initiatives for the Sabadell 2024 Cultural Capital program and Manifesta+. With the participation of numerous artists and representatives from cultural collectives and institutions in the city, a broad debate has taken place on the needs and future of visual arts in Sabadell. From this exchange of ideas arises the <em>Lead Gray<\/em> project, which has received assembly approval regarding both its content and curatorial structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Lead Gray<\/em> constructs a panoramic narrative that extends across different spaces in the city \u2014 the Sabadell Art Museum, the Academy of Fine Arts, and l\u2019Estruch. This narrative engages in dialogue with the work of about sixty artists who have been linked to it, thus including a series of events related to the history of art in connection with the recent history of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Curatorial team: Maia Creus (chief curator), Sergi \u00c1lvarez Riosalido, Almudena Manzanal, Oriol Fontdevila, and \u00d2scar Abril Ascaso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From September 4, 2024, to December 31, 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lead Gray.
